Indications are for overcast weather to-day, with lower temperatures; scattered showers; westerly . winds prevailing. Tho Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .20in. Rainfall for • previous 24 hours, .25in. Total for August to date, 4.09 in. Average rainfall for August, 3.96 in. Rainfall for year to dale. 3G.35in. Yearly average. 4G.321n. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. (By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist, covering the WalkaloThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong south-west winds. Weather mainly fair to cloudy, hut cold and with scattered showers. Seas rather rough to rough,' but moderate. General Inference: Pressure is still low to (he south and east, but an intense anticyclone now extends across the Tasman Sea onto northern New Zealand.
