WOMEN’S WORLD
(By Gipsy.) THE LYCEUM CLUB, LITERARY CIRCLE EVENING. MOST. SUCCESSFUL READING. The open evening of the Literary Circle of the Wailcato Lyceum Club was held in the Lounge last evening when John Van Druten’s play “ The Distaff Side ” was read before a large and appreciative number of membersThe delightful humour and clever lines were taken full advantage of by the strong cast comprising:—Mrs Venables, Mrs Kaber Harrison; Mrs Millward, 'Miss M. Lovell; Mrs Frobisher, Mrs C. L. Mac Diarmid; Mrs Fletcher, Mrs Ziman; Roland, Mrs J. M. Horton; Alex, Mrs Ellis; Christopher Venables, Mrs E. Walders; Teresa Venables, Mrs Elphick; Miss Spicer, Mrs Ebert Wilson; Rose, Miss E. Eggleston; Toby Chegwidden, Mrs F- Bullock; Charles Hubbard, Mrs Burke; Gilbert Baize, Mrs St. L. 11. Gribben.
After the reading a delicious supper was served. The lounge looked charming with bowls of jasmine, daffodils and Iceland poppies, and floating bowls of camellias.
