An earlier cablegram from London stated: —The Manchester Guardian expresses the opinion that while the Prime Minister of Australia, Mr.J. A. Lyons, was in England he may have hinted that Australia would take more immigrants if Britain would take more exports. The paper adds, that if resumption of migration is contemplated the 'Governments must ensure proper equipment and suitable land. The fiasco of the Victorian settlers was too tragic to bo easily forgotten.
