DAMAGE BY WIND

TARANAKI FARMER SUFFERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Saturday. Preceded by a Ihunder clap and lightning flash a terrific gust of wind swept over the farm of Mr L. Giddy at Bell Block late yesterday afternoon and partially unroofed Ihree buildings. Sheets of iron were ripped off Iho shed in which Mr Giddy was milking and lbe cows were so terrified that some refused to give any more milk. The garage and barn lost their roofs, sheets from which were carried over 100 yards and whisked above a belt orpine trees. One pine tree was’ also twisted and bent by the force of Ihe wind. The bouse escaped damtigo.
