RUGBY UNION SCHEME.

THE RESULTS ANNOUNCED. HAMILTON EAST’S GOOD WIN. A popular win by a wide margin was scored by Miss Zoe Faville, the Hamilton East Queen, in the Hamilton Rugby Union’s Queen Carnival scheme which was concluded on Saturday. The results were announced by Mr T. Tyne, chairman of the Carnival Committee at a function in the Regent ballroom on Saturday evening. The results of the voting was as follows : Hamilton East (Miss Zoe Faville) 49,754 Frankton (Miss Kathleen Green) 3-4,553 J Hamilton (Miss Mavis Langley) 29.554 Mr Tyne announced that the three Queens had raised a total of £479 15s 5Ad. With the profits of the Central Committee’s function (includnig the Coronation ceremony, which was still to come) a sum in excess of £SOO would be raised. Two-thirds of the money raised will go to the Hamilton Rugby Union, while the remainder will be distributed amongst the clubs. The Hamilton East Queen, represented the Marist and Te Kowhai Clubs and 33 1-3 per cent, of her proceeds will be divided between these clubs. The Frankton Queen represented the Frankton and Railway Clubs and the Hamilton Queen the Old Boys and Technical Old Boys’ Clubs. i The union, as well as the clubs, will greatly benefit as a result of the earn!- ; val and the organisers have expressed their gratification at the support accorded.
