ROADS AND RAILWAY FLOODED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. Yesterday was one of the wettest Sundays Auckland has had for a long time. After a fine day on Saturday rain began at night and the total fall to 9 o’clock to-day was 3.82 inches.

fl’toe excessive fall caused flooding in the lowlying suburbs. Tennis courts, bowling greens and playing fields generally were flooded and the Auckland Domain became a sea of water. In the Mt. Roskill district the residents'in some of the houses watched the water rising all night, and. this morning they were practically marooned.

The Takapuna racecourse was completely covered by water, banked up by a high tide. A small slip on the railway line between Helensville and Kaukapakapa held up an Auckland-bound train for half-an-hour.

The rainfall to date, 6.91 inches, is considerably above the July average. At noon more rain appeared probable. A report from Warkworth stales that 4.1 inches of rain fell between 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to-day. The main road is flooded in places and a serious erosion occurred on tooth sides of the river, giving rise tq anxiety for the safely of tho Warkworth Bridge.
