RECORD BROKEN IN MONTREAL,
(Received July 22, 3.10 p.m.) MONTREAL, July 21
Lenore Right, of Homestead, Pennsylvania, broke the world’s record for the half-mile, free style, at the women’s national swimming championship. Her Jime was 11 minutes 34 seconds, compared with the previous record of Helen Madison, 11 mins. 41 2-ss.
Mary Lou Petty, of Seattle, also broke the record lo finish second in 11 mins. 39 1-5 secs.
