STRUCK BY LIGHTNING,
FOUR PEOPLE KILLED. SEVERAL OTHERS INJURED. ELECTRICAL STORM IN AMERICA. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. NEW YORK. July 20. The hottest Sunday afternoon of Ihe summer was broken by an electrical storm at 3 p.m. to-day. Four people were killed and several others were injured on various beaches. In Hie New York mclropolilan area I lie temperature dropped from 90 degrees Fahrenheit lo 07 within a few minutes, and torrential rain sen! several hundred thousand bathers scurrying to shelter. Traffic was considerably disorganised.
The four people who were killed had sought shelter under a sheet-iron roof. One had just commented on the foolishness of persons staying on Hie beach during Hie storm when lightning tore through the structure.
