ADVICE TO CONGREGATION
CANON'S SINGING LESSON. A BROADCAST SERVICE'. Advice "to get their singing across" by “putting their soul into it” was given by Canon 11. B. L. Sheppard to the congregation in St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, when the first of the monthly broadcast services to the Empire was held. 'IIc also directed the congregation to have regard to promptness and simulianeousness in responses. To those who might have a cough, lie said: “lie good enough to get it over before the service, hut if you must 'Cough will you kindly do so between the verses " Ihe result of Mis advice was (hat Iho congregalional singing as well as that, of (lie choir was excellent. The service was inaugurated by the Dean (Dr. W. 11. Matthews), who said: "These services may be a new link between the peoples of the Commonwealth.”
