FATALITY AT QUARRY
CRUSHED by trucks. ' COMMENT BY CORONER. TE AWAMUTU, Friday. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner, Mr G. A. Empson, at the inquest to-day into the death of Georgo Mac Kay, a quarry worker who was crushed to death between a rake of metal trucks and the quarry crusher building at To Kawa on July 10. Commenting on the small space (only six inches) between the walls of the crusher and the walls of the trucks, whereas the Coalmines Act required a space of 15 inches, the coroner said that he thought provision should be made for a similar distance for quarries.
