Fruit stains of practically all kinds can be removed by treatment with very hot water. Wet the stain well by pouring a little hot water (boiling If possible) directly on the spot. Scrape all excess pulp, u anv off the fabric with a dull knife. Then rub vigorously with a cloth wet’with very hot water. If this treatment does not sulTlce, sponging after drying with a clean rag wet with carbon tetrachloride is the ony further treatment recommended. Soap and water is not recommended, as it will more than likely, set the stain and thereby cause a permanent discolouration of greater magnitude than the original stain. Drying the cloth by means of- heat (such as by the use of an iron) is also'not recommended for the same reason.
