I LOVE THE RAIN. I love the rain when I can take My new umbrella out; The little drops go pitter-pat Upon It all about. I love to splash through paddly pools and see the gutters run; I love a really rainy day, Oh I Don’t you think it’s fun? —Sent by .Mushroom Elf. I SEE THE STARS. On a hill-top here I lie, Watching all the stars go by; There's a red one over there, Mother calls that one the bear; ,\nd the seven sisters, bright, Glitter far off in the night; Strange and lovely things they are, I would love to be a star l —Sent by Mushroom Elf. THE PATCHWORK QUILT. ■Granny has made a patchwork quilt To put on Susan’s bed, Every patch has a story to tell: This little square of red Was a scrap of the dress that Granny wore When she was very small, And that’s ono of Mother’s party frocks, And this was a paisley shawl. And that was a scrap of her wedding gown, And this bit of tarlatan Mother wore as a fairy dress, And that was a bit of a fan. And now when she goes Id sleep al night, The patch work counterpane Whispers many a story to Sue, Over and over again. (Sent by Dormouse.)
