GENERAL ELECTION.
WAIRARAPA ELECTORATE. MASTERTON, Wednesday. A large meeting of delegates representing L.: Reform and United Parties throughout the Wairarapa electorate was held in Carterton this evening to select a candidate to support the National Government at the forthcoming election. Messrs J. W. Card and 11. F. Toogood were the candidates, and after they had addressed the meeting a ballot was taken, resulting in the selection of Mr Card. The meeting was presided over by Mr I>. Ardeli. Dominion organiser of tlie National Political Federation, who stated that Mr Card’s nomination was now endorsed by the Dominion executive.
