(Received June 12, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 11. Rain fell at the luncheon adjournment, and the match between the South African cricketers and Glamorganshire was abandoned as a draw. After three wickets had fallen ; rapidly Smart enabled Glamorganshire to make a remarkable recovery by bold spectacular hitting. Hughes, playing for the first time for 'Glamorganshire, assisted in the brilliant display, the pair scoring 100 in 45 minutes. Smart and Hughes added 131 in 60 minutes, breaking Glamorganshire’s last wicket record. Smart reached 100 in 95 minutes. He hit three sixers. Hughes hit four sixers. Scores:— SOUTH AFRICA.
