BUYING TONE FIRM. DALGETY & COMPANY’S REPORT. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Reporting on to-day’s Westfield clock sale, Messrs Dalgety and Company state 'that they yarded 283 head of cattle, comprising 70 steers and 213 cows and heifers against 259 head last week. The quality of the offering was first class and sold under good competition at firm late rates. Quotations :
Extra choice ox made to 24s per 1001 b; -choice and prime, 2Js to 235; just killable, 17s to 19s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 20s to 235; just killable, 13s to 19s-
Heavy prime steers ranged in price from £9 9s lo £9 15s; lighter prime, £8 to £S 17s Gd; light prime, £6 17s Gd lo £7 17s Gd; small and unfinished, £5 3s to £6 15s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £G Gs to £6 17s Gd; heavy prime cows and heifers, £5 to £5 17s" Gd; lighler prime, £3 5s to £i 15s; other killable cows, £1 15s to £3 2s Gd.
