WILL NOT PARTICIPATE

IN CAPITALISTIC WARS.

SOOIALIST LEADER'S DECLARATION ATTITUDE OF THE WORKERS. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received June 11, 11.55 a-m.) LONDON, June 10. “ In no circumstances will we participate In a war under capitalist rule for capitalist ends.” So declared Sir Stafford Cripps, K.C., at the Socialist -League conference at Bristol, proposing a motion for calling on the National Council of

Labour to summon a conference of the whole of Hie working class movement to -consider the danger of war and decide as to methods of mass resistance to the Government’s present policy. Sir Stafford added that a Socialist Government must be free to recon-sider Britain’s existing commitments. Defence would be necessary, but it would be the defence of an England owned and controlled by workers.

The resolution was carried unanimously.
