GATE AT INDIAN MATCH. GROSS RECEIPTS £620. ! 1 I £5 5s TO EARTHQUAKE .FUND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Saturday. In recognition of the stimulus given to hookey in the Manawatu as a result of the Indian team’s visit and in sympathy with the Baluchistan earthquake sufferers, the Manawatu Hockey Association has donated five guineas to the earthquake relief fund. The receipts at the recent hockey match, India versus Manawatu, totalled £620. The association expects to clear £4lO profit, including £250 insurance against rain. The association set up a committee to investigate the possibility of joining with other associations in order to bring professional coaches from India or England to improve the game in the Dominion.
