Miss R. Budd, of Messrs Balfour, Irvine and Webster, supplies the following local observations on ihe weather:
Barometer. Saturday ..... 29.75 Monday ..... 29.65 Thermometer. Max. Min. Friday 60 47 Sunday • 61 Mean Temperature, 54.5 deg. The barometer is steady at 29.65. Indications are for a continuance of unsettled weather, south-westerly winds prevailing, with lower temperatures and heavy showers. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, 1.25 in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours .251 n. Total for June to date, 3.49 in. Average rainfall for June, 5.19Jn. Rainfall for year to date, 22.16 in. Yearly average, 46.32 in. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. (By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist, covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Strong southwest to westerly winds, turning temporarily to northwest. Weather cold and changeable, with passing showers at times. Seas rather rough. General Inference: Two very deep depressions crossed the Dominion during the week-end and a third is now moving on to the South Island.
