WEDDINGS.

REID—BELL. The marriage was solemnised at St. John’s ' Presbyterian ’Church, Hawera, recently, between Jeanette Anne, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr C. C. Bell, of Hawera, and Francis Eric Alexander, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs I- Reid, of Remuera (formerly of Te Awamutu). The Rev. A.'G. Irvine officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr C. Bell, of New Plymouth, wore a frock of ivory patterned lace cut on slim princess lines, the skirt flaring from the knee to form a train. She wore a flowing veil of ■embroidered tulle, held in place with sprigs of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of cream chrysanthemums, begonias and fern. Miss 'Gladys Rawcllffe, of Hawera, was the bridesmaid, and wore a frock of Marina blue satin checked brocade. She wore a cap of massed velvet flowers in matching blue and carried a bouquet of cyclamen, begonias and fern in tones of pink. Little Maire Baker, of Wanganui, was the flowergirl and wore a frock of pink sprigged organdie, with a wreath of pink leaves in her hair. -She carried a tiny Victorian posy. Mr Clive Howdle, of Hawera, was the best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Carlton, Mrs Bell receiving -the guests wearing a floral frock of silk crepe suede, with brown coat and hat to match and carrying a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. She -was assisted by Mrs E. Henriokson, of Remuera (sister of the bridegroom), who wore*an ensemble of black marooain and matching hat and ■carried a bouquet of scarlet flowers and fern.

Air and Mrs Reid left 'later by oar for Hawke’s Bay on their wedding tour. ‘They will make their home at Te Kuitl.

WILLIAMSON—FERGUSON. A very <juiet wedding was solemnised at St. 'Andrew’s Presbyterian ChutrcTi, Hamilton, on Saturday, toetween Miss Eveline Elsie (Eva) Ferguson, iflft'h daughter of Air and Airs A. Ferguson, of Pukeatua, and Air D. N. Williamson, of Waotu, eldest son ot the late Mr and Mrs G. AV. Williamson, of Dunedin. Rev. 11. G. Gilbert ■performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a costume of periwinkle blue and hat to tone, and carried a spray of orange blossoms. The bridesmaid, Aliss Joyce Edmonds, wore an ensemble and hat of emherust. Air A. Ferguson, junior (brother of the 'bride) , was best man. After the ceremony Air and Mrs D. N. Williamson left by cor - Tor the South Island. Prior to thb wedding, the ladles of Pukeatua organised a gift evening for the bride, at which she was the recipient of -many beautiful gifts. Tho local branch of the Women's Division of -the Farmers’ Union presented her with a hronze Jardiniere, while the ladies of the Presbyterian Church, at which .she has been the organist for the past nine years,' made a presentation of a beautiful crystal vase. The managers of the church at 'Kihikihi made a similar presentation.
