MATAMATA.
VALEDICTORY FUNCTION. Organised by the Matamata Chamber of Commerce, a successful dinner was tendered to'-Mr and Mrs L. 'Flower, who after a 12 years’ residence in Matamata are leaving to reside in Tauranga. The function was presided over by Mr H. E. Schofield, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and was attended by the Mayor, Mr W. A. -Gordon, and other citizens apart from the Chamber of commerce members. Speakers were: His Worship the Mayor, Messrs, 11. E. Schofield, A. S. Thlrlwall (A. and P. Association), and G. G. Griffiths. On behalf or the -Chamber of Commerce •Mr Schofield presented Mr and Mrs Flower xvith a handsome oak chiming clock.
