TO-DAY’S BUSINESS. INSURANCE SECTION EASIER. ■» DROP IN GOVERNMENT STOCK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.! AUCKLAND, Friday. Business was fairly steady over the last 24 hours. The recent easing’ in 'tlio Insurance section was confirmed in the sale of New Zealands at 70s, after which the market rested between G9s and 70s 3d. South British were on offer at 975, but there were no buyers. In the banking section the chief feature was the decline in Commercials, which iiad a late sale yesterday at 15s. Reserve 'Ranks were quoted, ex dividend from £G 9s to £G 10s lOd. in Government stocks the 1935-43 issue of 34 per cents had their first local sale since October, showing at £lO5 7s Gd, a drop of 85s in the interim. In 4 per cents late rates prevailed except for 1940’5. For this Issue holders still asked £lO4 10s, but buyers dropped their limits to £lO2. Recorded Sales.
