SHOP ISSUE WANTED
REQUEST TO BOROUGH COUNCIL. Dissatisfaction with the present arrangements for llie distribution of meal lo relief workers and their families was expressed at a meeting of Hamilton unemployed in Toorak Hall lust evening, and it was decided to approach llie borough inspector, through (he Borough Council, to have ttie meat issued from a shop instead of from (lie existing depot. The question of relief allocations was also discussed, and it was decided to make representations lo the Hamilton Borough Council to subsidise nil relief wages up to standard rates of pay. The executive of the Unemployed Workers’ Movement were delegated to arrange a series of social functions.
