FINNEGAN—DOUGLAS.

The marriage was solemnised at St. Joseph’s Church, Te Aroha on Tuesday, between Elsie Winifred, on y daughter of Mr and Mrs F. L. Rouglas, of Te Aroha, and James Thomas, elder son of Mr and the late Mrs M. Finnegan, of Paeroa. The Rev. *athei Murphy officiated and Mrs J. I‘ugn presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a frock of ivory satin beaute, cut on classical lines, with fully flared skirt. The bodice was close fitting, with neck and sleeve cowls and diamante trimming. She wore a veil of Brussels net caught to the head with a coronet of oiange blossom, and falling to form a deep train, and carried a bouquet of ivory chrysanthemums and maiden-hair fern. Miss Margaret Brenan, of. Paeroa (cousin of the bride), was bridesmaid, and wore a frock of pink sand crepe, the skirt of which was relieved with frilled godets. She wore a headdress of pink tulle tied with a band of tiny roses and carried a bouquet of Iceland poppies and pale pink roses.

Mr Joseph 'Finnegan (brother of tlie bridegroom) wasybest man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Majestic Rooms, where Mrs Douglas received the guests wearing a smart frock of navy blue satin beaute, with fawn trimmings and hat to tone assisted by Miss Frances Finnegan, on behalf of the bridegroom's family, wearing a frock of blue woollen crepe, relieved with fawn. When (Mr and Mrs J. T. Finnegan left on a motor tour of 4116 North Island, the bride travelled in a frock of nigger brown silk marocain, with coat and hat to tone. GARDINER—WALSH

The marriage was solemnised, at 'St. David’s Church, Te Aroha, on Saturday, between Betty, daughter of Mr and Mrs Walsh, of Manawaru, and 'Charles |Gardiner, of Waihi. The Rev. J. Haslop officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of Ivory crepe de chine, with a fine lace veil and carried a sheaf of white and pink autumn blooms.

Miss Vera Walsh (sister of the bride), and Miss Myrtle Gardiner, were the bridesmaids, and wore frocks of royal blue velvet, relieved with gold, and with hats to tone. They carried bouquets of golden-tinted flowers.

Mr L. Thompson was best man, and Mr George O’Neil groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Domain Tearooms, where Mrs Walsh received the guests wearing a blue frock relieved with facings of grey crepe de chine. Mrs Gardiner was wearing! a blue swagger suit and grey hat. BROWNE—DWEN. The marriage was solemnised at Knox Presbyterian 'Church, Ngaruawahia, on Wednesday, between Florence Hazel, third daughter of (Mr and 'Mrs J. D. Dwen, of Westga’te Street, Ngaruawahia, and Roy, fourth son of Mr and Mrs C. E. Browne, of Waihi. Rev. J. Cummins officiated and Miss I. Gerrard presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a frock of ivory crepe azure with cowl collar, rucked sleeves and finished with a girdle at the waist. She wore a beautifully embroidered tulle veil held in place with a coronet and carried a sheaf of paper whites, narcissi and maiden-hair and asparagus fern. Tlie bridesmaid, Miss Mavis Dwen (sister of the bride), wore a frock of green georgette with a silk girdle, and a cap of apricot velvet flowers, with small tulle veil. She carried a sheaf of Iceland poppies and asparagus fern. Mr Leslie Brown (brother of Hie bridegroom) was the best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Talisman Tearooms, Mrs Dwen receiving iter guests wearing a frock of brown wool marocain, relieved with tangerine, and hat -to match. She carried a posy of French marigolds. Mrs Browne, mother of the bridegroom, was wearing a frock of brown silk marocain trimmed with fawn, with hat to lone, and carried a posy of French marigolds. When 'Mr and Airs R. Brownie left by car for Waihi, Where they will make their home, the bride travelled in a wine shaded woollen frock, and black fur felt hat.
