THE INDIAN TOUR.
PINE EXHIBITION AT TIMARU
VICTORY BY 12 GOALS TO 0
(By Telegraph.—-Press Association.) TIMARU, Thursday
The Indian hockey team gave a brilliant display at Timaru to-day, defeating the South Canterbury representatives by 12 goals to 0. At half-time the visitors led by 3 goals to 0. The Indians displayed wonderful team work, their positional play being outstanding. The home side battled gamely, but was unable to cope with the brilliance of the Indian forward line, of which Dhyan Chand was the pivot. He scored six goals, Fernandes two, Shahabuddin, two, and Rup Singh two.
CHARGE FOR AUTOGRAPHS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, Thursday. Since the commencement of l(ieir New Zealand tour, members of the visiting Indian hockey team have been beseiged by autograph collectors. It lias been decided in future to charge 6d for autographs, books lo be left with the manager of the team. The money collected will lie paid into the Indian earthquake relief fund.
