CLOSING OF SE4BON. FUNCTION AT NGARUAWAHIA. To mark the closing or the season a Yankee tournament was held on tho Ngaruavvalila courts on Saturday, 26 players taking part. Tho winners were Mr 11. D. Sampson and Miss M. Johnston. On Saturday night a most successful closing dance was held in tho Masonic liall During tho evening the trophies won bv members of the Ngaruawabia teams were presented. The association cup for the senior competition was won by Ngaruawabia. miniature cups being presented to the players, Mcsclames isdale and Littlejohn, Misses O’Connor and McGruer and Messrs V. Fletcher, B. White, 11. Hill, H. D. Sampson and Dr. D’Arcy Miniatures wero also presented to the winners of the Association’s cup for the junior competition, Mesdaines H. D. Sampson and Garry, Misses Johnston and Edge, and Messrs It. Sampson, B. McCowan, G. McGowan and M. Gerring Winners of other trophies were: Men s championship singles, Mr 11. llill. Ladles’ championship singles, Miss O’Connor. Labour Day tournament, Airs Littlejohn and Mr 11. D. Sampson. Yankeo tournament (March 30), Mrs isdale, Mr V. Fletcher. Men’s club handicap doubles, Dr. I>’\rcy and Air B. White. Ladies’ club handicap doubles, Miss O’Connor and Mrs Littlejohn. Yankee tournament (April 27), Miss Johnston and Air 11. D. Sampson.

WAIKATO CHAMPIONSHIPS. CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. The - Waikato hard court championships and the Cambridge handicap tournament were concluded on Saturday, when the following games wero played:— Combined championship doubles. —final: D Clow and Alias Brennan defeated C.
