Transport of stock.
CONSIGNMENTS BY RAIL. DEPARTMENT'S ASSISTANCE. An exceptionally large number of oattle have been transported by rail during the past week. Special cattle trains have been r.un during the past three weeks from the King Country and the Bay of Plenty. The Railway Department is fully alivo to the great Importance of the meat business and thes I'special trains have followed a time-table that is both convenient to the farmer and the exporter. Local buyers of fat stock state that they are appreciative of the way the Railway Department is handling the business.
