LOCAL POLITICS.
THE MUNICIPAL ELECTIONB. ANOTHER COUNCIL CANDIDATE. A further addition has been made to the list of names of potential candidates for the Hamilton Borough Council wit'h the announcement 'that Mr James Tidd, a councillor of several years ago, will be a candidate at next month’s election. Mr Tidd, who is a Well-known Hamilton businessman, served on the council 'for a lengthy term, and did valuable work on various committees. ' 'Considerable interest is being evinced in the forthcoming elections, and it is anticipated that during the next few days there will he a rush of electors to have their names included In the supplementary roll, which will close on Wednesday next, at 5 p.m. This will 'be the last opportunity for those with 4he necessary qualifications to be placed on the roll. Nominations for the Mayoralty, council, and 'hospital board will close at noon on Wednesday, April 24, the elections being scheduled for May -8. With three names mentioned as candidates for the mayoralty, and a number of new aspirants for seats on the council, including several representatives of the Labour Party, interesting contests are indicated.
