WOODCRAFT. A good way of using your brain's In woodcraft is for the Guides to sit in a circle on the grass, armed with paper and pencil, ana as they hear a bird’s cry, to write down the name of the bird. Tile Guide presenting the longest and most correct list wins. And well the Guide with the longest and most correct list deserves the prize! For at least she has “stood and stared” —or sat and stared—and seen and heard better than others, and mat is the way to learn the wisdom of me trail. Do not sit on damp grass. I would suggest as an amendment that a Guide might sit on a fallen tree-trunk, on a gate, or on a rug—but it docs not matter where she sits providing she is silent and stares with ail her eyes, listens with all her ears. The reason why Guides who go for walks in me bush and see nothing but trees i 5.... At any rate, Guides do not as a rule sit silent when on the trail, and stare and listen', and write down the names of the birds winch cry—were they to do so they would see wonders!

AN ENERGETIC GAME. Killing Rabbits. —Guides run round and Captain touches one Guide as unobtrusively as possible as she passes and she becomes the hunter, chasing the others without warning. Anyone touched must stand out. After about -JO seconds CapI lain counts her "bag." Captain touches a person from a dill'erent patrol each time, and the hunter with the largest “bag” I wins.
