POSITION IN AUSTRIA. United Press Assn. —Elec, rel. Copyright (Received Dec. 31, 2.30 p.m.) VIENNA, Dec. 30. According to an official announcement 100 newspapers and periodicals here will be suppressed in the New Year under a decree insisting that all publications must obtain a police permit. The decree will enable the Government to ensure that hostile opinions do not appear, since licenses can always be withdrawn. The Government has absolute power over the press. _____.
