This week’s productions included “Die Fledepmaus,” whioh introduces the Blue Danube waltz and ballet, “Madame Butterfly,” “Aida" and “Tannhauser." Hamiltonian’s Brother as Conductor. Mr "Warwick Bralthwalte, brother of Mr B. Bralthwalte, of (Hamilton, Is one of the conductors of the grand opera company at Sadler’s Wells, London. He received high praise recently for his direction of “Die Fledermaus.” “Madame Butterfly” In Sydney. In the Fuller Grand Opera Company’s promotion of “Madame Butterfly” in Sydney Francesca Duret appears in the title role and Browning Mummery as Lieutenant Pinkerton. A Book on Singing. Boland Foster, head of the vocal section at Sydney Gonservatorium, has written a book on singing, called “ Vocal Success and llow to Achieve It.” A foreword is provided by Dr. Bainton, director of the Conservatorium. Pianist’s Domestlo Troubles. lsadore Moses Goodman, a wellknown pianist, was successful ifi his petition before the Judge-iq-Dlvorce (Mr Justice Boyce) for restitution, says a Sydney paper. •Goodman said he oame to Sydney from South Africa in 1929 to fulfil a two-years’ contract with the Consoiv vatorium of Music. lie was married in January, 1933. In April of this year ho agroed to his mother-in-law’s suggestion that his wife should go to Melbourne for a holiday. While there her feelings towards him appeared lo change, and she had not returned to him. The judge directed Mrs Goodman to return to tier husband within 21 days. Broadcast of Grand Opera. The Australian Broadcasting Commission is broadcasting through station 2FG a large proportion of the grand operas which are being produced at the New Tivoli Theatre, Sydney.
