BULGARIAN DEBT
PAYMENT TO BONDHOLDERS. AGREEMENT REACHED, (Omerit Wireless ) (Received Dec. 29, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 28. Following recent; London conversations between the representatives of the Bulgarian Government and various bondholders’ organisations, the latter have issued a joint statement saying that Bulgaria ia_ willing to transfer a minimum of To per cent in foreign exchange for the payment of interest already due, but not paid on her external debt.
If the League committee which, is now enquiring into the position of Bulgaria assesses Bulgaria’s capacity to transfer on her debts at a rate higher or lower than 15 per oent. the amounts due for transfer after November 1, 1934, will count towards whatever new percentage of transfer is agreed with bondholders.
The League committee will meet on, Monday, January 7, and its report, which is expeoted to be available during the second half of the, mon.th, will, form the basis for a fresh discussion with (Bulgaria.
