The shipyards on the Clyde maintained their leading position in the shipbuilding world during 1934 by the construoton of 67 vessels totalling 268,121 tons. This represents about 25 per cent, of the world’s output and more than half the total production in the United Kingdom.

The prospects for next year aro considered to be fairly satsifactory but the output is still only about onethird of the record production of 1913.
