OBITUARY.
MR ALEXANDER H. MAOKAY*. NATIVE LAND COURT REGISTRAR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. The death occurred recently in Wellington of Mr Alexander Herbert .Mackay, who, until lie was superatiiiualed in 1923, occupied the position of Registrar of (lie Native Land Court, at Wanganui, which position he held unlit 19 18, when tie was Iraiisl'erred lo a similar post in Wellington.
.Mr Mackay, who was horn in 1861, was tlm son of the tale Mr Just ice Alexander Mackay, of I lie Native Land Court, and his father's cousin was Dial James Mackay, who was said lo have bought Westland from the Maoris for £3OO.
