BOYCOTT LIFTED.

BROKERS AND BUYERS. FRUIT INDUSTRY IN SOUTH. (By Telegraph.— Pr°sa association.) CHRISTCHURCH,' Friday. After" a long conference this afternoon between representatives of the fruit brokers and of the buyers’ organisation, the boycott of one of the Chrlstohurch auctioneering firms, which came Into force yesterday, was lifted.

This morning the firm that suffered yesterday continued to have no custom from supporters of the Buyers’ Association. Streamers were displayed outside the premises urging all buyers to go elsewhere, and also asking the growers to send their consignments to other firms. The notices were contrary to a city by-law and were soon removed.

A meeting of buyers was held this morning, and it was then agreed that the boycott should not be lifted until the grievances that the buyers complain of were done away with.

There was also some resentment at police having been called yesterday, the meeting considering’ that, as there was no "disorder, the’police should not have been called.
