HOKITIKA JUBILEE.
COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMME. (HOLIDAY SPIRIT PREVAILS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HOKITIKA, Friday. The Hokitika jubilee festival was continued In perfect weather. The pioneer sports gathering yesterday attracted a record attendance, splendid contests eventuating. The sports are being continued to-day, wood-chopping and sawing being the main events. The pioneers’ social last evening was well attended. Crowds filled the streets until a late hour, the holiday spirit being very noticeable. To-night the jubilee ball will take place, and the second day’s races on Saturday. The scenlo resorts are attracting a large attendance. A special gala night has been arranged for Saturday.
