ROCKET PROPULSION.

FOR MAIL PURPOSES. UNSUCCESSFUL EXPERIMENT. LONDON, Dec. 2G. Herr Gerard Zucker, German rocket mall experimenter, attempted to-day to send 600 letters by rocket post from Hampshire to the Isle of Wight, hut the plan failed. The rocket did not even reach the sea, but lodged in the ground one and a-halif miles away, it- was blown in a circle by a strong wind, and the nose of the rocket was broken. Herr Zucker immediately rushed the letters to a post- office. He blames the wind for his failure, and says he inlands lo make another attempt after Christmas.

In July Herr Zucker made an attempt to send boon idlers from Scarpa, but when the smoke, cleared the rocket was lying on the sand. The letters were badly scorched.
