SPURIOUS NOTES.
CIRCULATING IN LONDON. MASTERLY COUNTERFEITS United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, Deo. IS. Scotland Yard has issued a warning to shopkeepers throughout London that thousands of forged £i notes are in circulation. The notes are said to he of masterly workmanship, the most minute examination being necessary to detect the difference between them and genuine ones. The counterfeiters, it is believed, have built up an extensive secret organisation, with central headquarters \yhere many women are employed. It is one of the biggest floods of spurious money with which flie authorities have ever had to contend.
