BICYCLES “ CONVERTED.”

YOUNG MAN'S OFFENOES. COURT ADJOURNS CASE. A plea of guilty to three charges of converting bicycles 'to his own use was made by a young man named Smith in the Magistrate's Court, Hamilton, before Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M. this morning. The owners of the bioycles were Charles Orvlls, James Victor Turner, and William Green. Detective-Sergeant. J. Thompson, said the accused, who was married, worked long hours, extending from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tlie bicycles were removed from a rack at the rear of the Post Ol'ilce. Smith offered the explanation that at.the end of the day’s work lie was too tired to walk home and took the bicycles, abandoning them near his house. . The machines had been returned to their owners undamaged. Mr Thompson added that Smith was in poor financial, circumstances. The Magistrate adjourned the case until January 14 to enable his circumstances to lie investigated. As accused made ‘ a voluntary i appearance bail was .unnecessary.
