COUNTRY WEEK TOURNEY. PLAY AT AUCKLAND. \ AUCKLAND, Thursday. The country week cricket competition for the Hellaby Shield was continued in fine weather yesterday. All the teams are fairly evenly matched and no outright wins have yet been gained. The winners yesterday were Pukekohe, Waipa, and North Auckland, over Poverty Bay, Auckland and South Auckland respectively. The top score ol' the day was compiled by L. Dalton (Waipa), 71. The next best score was N. McMahon (Waipa), GD not out. The best bowling performance was that of E. Dow (Poverty Bay), with seven wickets for 3! runs, and live for 40. The next best figures were gained by M. Clark (South Auckland), five for 49. ' PUKEKOHE v. POVERTY BAY, A good match eventuated. Poverty Bay showed up better in its ilelding and a good performance was registered by E. Dow, who, in Pukekohe’s first innings, too’: seven wickets for 34 runs, and in the second innings live for 40. The Pukekohe trundlers, C opcr and A. Ilickling, four for 14, and three for 25 respectively, maintained a steady length. NORTH v, SOUTH AUCKLAND. South Auckland was out early for 123, and North had plenty of time to gain an outright win. However, the Southern bowlers kept runs down, but the steady batting of Dunning (54), E. Wyatt (23), Hubbard (42), and Salisbury (32), enabled the Northern team to score 202. South Auckland batted again, but it was holiday cricket and the bowling was attacked from the start, W. Wilson having a merry innings for Of. WAIPA v. AUCKLAND. Auckland batted first, and were all out for 107. The bowling and Ilelding of tlie Waipa players were of a high standard. 'Waipa attacked the bowling, and Dalton (71) and’S. Shepherd (3G), made merry at the expense of tile Auckland trundlers. Included in balton’s score were three sixes and seven fours. A quiet spell ensued, but the advent of Mclntosh resulted in more hard hitting, his score of 09 not out including one six and eleven fours. Auckland did better in its second innings, when I. Cleal and Gillies were associated in a fast-scoring partnership, the former being caught when 37. Gillies, with good, crisp strokes, compil d 08 before being caught in the outfield.

SUBURBAN MATCH. WELLINGTON v. AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The annual match between representatives of the Auckland City and Suburban' Cricket Association and the Wellington Mercantile Cricket League, was commenced to-day. Auckland made 127 in their first innings, and have lost four wickets for 50 in their second innings. Wellington made 114 in their first innings.

LOCAL GAMES. WIN FOR OTOROHANGA. HAMILTON B DEFEATED. A representative team from the ■Otorohanga Sub-Association played the Hamilton Senior B representatives on Seddon Park yesterday, gaining a win by 21 runs on the first innings. Baiting first, the. visitors compiled 181 runs—A. Finlay 43, J. Fraser 39, L. Cameron 25. I. Owsley took three wickets for 39 runs, Winger two for 40, Harding two for 54. Hamilton replied with 100 —0. Harding 45, L. Dowling 30, I. Owsley 25. A. Finlay look four wickets for 40 runs, Cameron two for 8. Otorohanga in their second inning's had scored 80 for the loss of six wickets at slumps A. Finlay 25 not out, L. Arnold IS. Harding took four wickets for 28 unrs.
