Duke in Waikato
ARRANGEMENTS ALTERED
FIRIDAY’B VISIT CANCELLED. PRINCE ARRIVING SATURDAY. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Thursday. Arrangements for the Duke of Gloucester’s visit to the Waikato have been unavoidably altered, according to an official statement made by Mr Malcolm Fraser, Under-Secretary for internal Affairs, to a Waikato Timas reporter just before we went to press. All arrangements in connection with the visit to Hamilton to-mor-row have been cancelled. The / Duke will now leave Auckland on the Royal train at 10.45 a.m. on Saturday, arriving at the Hamilton station at 1.16 p.m. The Duke has 'been ordered by Ms medical adviser to spend another night in Auckland in adder to rest, his foot. The amended programme is as follows : •10.45 a.m. —‘Leave Auckland by 1.15 p.m.—Arrival at Hamilton, and reception by Mayor. 1.17 p.m.—Proceed by car to Seddon Park. . _ . 1.20 p.m.—-Civic deception at Park- ' 1.50 p.m.—Depart by rar for Ruakura and Cambridge. The programme at Cambridge,. including the Duke’s participation in a. £'611116 Of >po3\o, will *l)6 8.d1161*6*01 to OTITJ if the condition of the Duke’s foot ■allows- After the Visit to Cambridge the Duke will rejoin the Royal train at ,Ohaupo, whence he will leave at 5.30 p.m.' for the National Park. The main events eliminated from the original programme aire the visit to the Waikato Hospital, the Waitomo Caves, and the dairy factories.
