WOOL, SKIN, HIDE, TALLOW SALE.
KEEN DEMAND FOR. ALL CLASSES
At the monthly sale of wool, sheepskins, hides and tallow, held by Messrs Abraham and Wililams, Ltd., there was a very keen demand for all classes from all sections. Wool: Competition was spirited, with values on a par to id better than last month. Sheepskins: The demand’was very strong, particularly for the skins carrying a good length of wool. Values lor these were id to Id higher, while other sorts were very. firm. Hides: Here again the demand was keen, .with values on a par to id better. Calfskins again appreciated in value id to id per lb. ’Fallow: The market was very lirm for all sorts. The following is the range of values: * Wool—Southdown, 8d to BJd; flue hogget, 7d to 7id; dead, 4d to 4id; cutc-hings, feri none, second none; bellies and pieces, 4d to sd; crossbred, lirst aid'to Gd, second 4d to 43d. ■Sheepskins (dry)—Fine hogget, Gid to 6£d; hogget, 4Jd to ad; line crossbred, ,7d to 7id; three-quarter fleece wools, 4id;to sd; quarter to half-fleece wools, 4d to 43d; shorts, 3id; pelts, 3id to 3id; dead, 3d to 3 1 d; lambs, damaged, 4d to 4|d; damaged, first 3td to' 43, second 2|d to 3d.
Hides—Ox, heavy 6|d to Gid, medium s|d to 6d, light to 4|d; cow, heavy 43d to s|d, medium 3id to 4|d, light 4id to 4fd; yearlings, 5d to Cld, cut 33d to sd; calf, light first Bid to 9i, second 7icl to Bd, cut 73 to 7id. Tallow—ln tins, 12s to 13s 6d; in drums, super 17s 6d to 18s Gd, first 14s 3d to 15s 3d, second 10s to 12s.
