YOUTH KILLED.
ACCIDENT ON FARM. KICKED BY HORSE. Suffering severe internal Injuries, Norman James Davenport, aged 19 years, a son of Mr R. A. Davenport, of Ngarua, Waitoa, was killed through being kicked by a horse at his father’s farm on Sunday. Mr Davenport, xvho Is employed as a clerk in the office of -the Audit Department, Wellington, was spending a holiday at Ngarua. Re was inspecting a mare and foal when the mare lashed out and kicked •him tn the abdomen. He was remove’d to the Waikato Hospital, where he was found to be suffering from severe Internal injuries, from which he died yesterday morning. Mir Davenport was well-known in the Waikato. He was a pupil of the Hamilton High School for live years and he held the position of head prefect when be left in 1932. He hah experienced a brilliant scholastic career and bad well advanced ilia studies for the B. Com. degree of the University of New Zealand. He was also a prominent athlete and footballer, and had represented the High School in many branches of sport. An inquest was opened before Mr S L. PntcAon, S.M., coroner, yesterriav morning .and after formal evidence of idenliflealion had been given the inquiry was adjourned.
