rVIRS MARSHALL THOMPSON. ““ \ The pupils of Mrs Marshall Thompson (Miss Maud Rimmer), assisted by Mrs H. Biland (violinist), Miss Thora Stubbs (pianist), Mr Alf. Boyce (pianist) and Mr George Goodwin (elocutionist), gave a recital at the Lyceum Club on Saturday night. The work was of a high standard, and was much enjoyed. The programme was as follows: — Piano solo, Miss Thora Stubbs; song's, “Wake Up" and “Early in the Morning,” .Miss Daisy Giles; songs, “Melisande in the Wood” (Goetz) and “Four Ducks in a Pond” ((Lehmann), Miss Edith Holmes; songs, "Where the Bee Sucks” and “The Lass with the Delicate Air” (Ai;ne), Miss Zena Rodgers; songs, “Oh, Could I But Express in Song” (Malishkin) and “Two Grenadiers” (Schumann), Mr Gib James; songs, “Mignon" (Thomas) and “Music when Soft Voices Die” (Besley), Miss Nona Easter; violin solos, Mrs H. Biland; song, “Skylark’s Song” Leonard Gilbert; songs, “The First Violet" (Mendelssohn') and “Lullaby" (Scott), Miss Marjory Donn; monologue, Mr George Goodwin; song, “When the King Goes Forth to War,” .Mr George Wheeler; duet, “Passing By" (Purcell), Messrs- M.
