HAMILTON CROQUET CLUB

CHRISTMAS PARTY. The Hamilton Croquet Club’s lawns in Thackeray Street were the scene of a merry gathering on Saturday, when the members of the club were entertained by the two vice-presidents Mcsdames Totman and Ilawken. Ihe afternoon, which was ideal as regards weather, was spent in playing progressive croquet, hidden numbers being used for fhe winners of the different grades. ~ , In the A grade Mrs Dilhcar and Mis Henderson tied for first place, the trophy linaiiy being won by Mrs Duhear " For second place Mrs Webster was the winner. In the B grade Mrs Shepherd was successful in winning the first place, while that of second place was won by Mrs Power. The tables, which were laden with strawbemes and cream and a variety of cakes, were beautifully decorated for the occasion with blue hydrangeas, nasturtiums and sweet peas.
