ACTIVITIES AT TE RAPA. With the continued favourable weather throughout last week, there was a great ideal of flying undertaken at the Tc Bapa aerodrome. With the advent of summer lhc planes are much more freely used, while quite a large number of spectators visit the drome during the week-end. 'The new clubhouse Is proving its use every day and is, undoubtedly, a great acquisition. Quite a number of visiting planes called at Te Rapa during Ihe week. Last Friday tho Auckland ’Aero Club secretary, Mr. L. Swan, with a passenger, Hew down 10. Hamilton and back to Mange re in Z-K. A.D.G. On 'Tuesday two Auckland machines landed here. Air. F. H. -Cadman flew down in Z.K.—A.D.G. and took a passenger' back lo Auckland, while Mr. (_;. k. MoKillip, the aero club’s loud speaker announcer, flew down and back with a passenger in Z.K. —A.A.K. Isitt, in a ‘Government Moth, called in at Te Rapa and tested Mr. S. J. Blaclcmore’s Desoutler Monoplane for a Certificate of -Airworthiness. After testing tho machine which Mr. Blackmore has flown several limes, Squad-ron-Leader Isitt returned to Hobsonvillc. On the same day Air. E. F. ilarvie with a passenger in his Sports Avian, ZJKi.—A.L.M., .called in at Te Rapa. He also was on his way from Hastings to Auckland. Early on Wednesday the instructor at Hamilton, Flight-Lieutenant W. H. Lett with a passenger, flew to Taumarunui and conducted several lessons. Air. Frank Stewart, who accompanied Squadron-Leader J. D. Hev/'ti and Flying-Officer G. E. Kay in the De Havllland Rapide, “ Tainui ” in •the Centenary .air race and also -on its flight across the Tasman, went to Taumarunui by train from Auckland on Wednesday. On Wednesday afternoon and Thursday Flight-Lieutenant Lett and Air. Stewart conducted a photographic survey .of the Atanunui Hush on behalf of Ellis and Burnand Limited. Air. Lett who flow Z.K. — A.C.K. returned on Thursday evening, Mr. Stewart returning by train. Several cross-country flights were undertaken by local pilots. On Sunday morning Dr. Mary Douglas witli a passenger, in Z.K.—A.C.K. flow to Raglan and back, passing over the seaside without landing. In the aflernonn, Mr. R. ■! Iliarl I on. of Hangiriri, with a. passenger, also in A.C.K. flew over Cambridge and hack. On Wednesday Dr. Mary Douglas and a passenger, in Z.K. A.C.C. flew ove*’ ilnntly and back again.
