WEDDINGS.

GRIFFITHS—SCOTT. At St; John’s Church, Ponsonby, ’Auckland, on Wednesday evening, the wedding took place of John Walter, I son of Mrs and the late Mr 'Griffiths, of Sydney, Australia, and Nina Elsie, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs David Scott, of Mt. Albert, Auckland. The popularity of the young couple was evidenced by the large attendance of friends, the church being crowded and hundreds of people being unable to gain admission. Owing to the bride’s former connection (as '“Aunty Nina’’) with the Friendly 'Road, the ceremony was conducted by Rev. G. G. 'ScWmgeour (“Uncle Scrim”), the Friendly Road choir assisted, and the proceedings were broadcast through the Friendly Road station. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked very lovely in a gown of cloth o'f gold, with tight-fitting sleeves and long' train. She wore a hand-embroidered veil, with plaited halo of gold and a gold girdle, and carried a beautiful bouquet of ,-, golden lilies, tied -with gold velvet streamers. The bridesmaids— Miss-Ruth Scott (only sister of the bride.) .and Miss, 'Betty... Mulholland—were in gold taffeta period "frocks, with long trains and long tight-fitting sleeves, and wore haloes- of gold flowers and leaves. They carried bouquets of gold roses and streamers. Mr Robert 'Simmers' was best man, and Mr Frank Harris groomsman. The mother of the bride was attired in a black and beige georgette ensemble, with a small black hat with pastel flowers. After' the ceremony a reception was held at the 'Fabian Hall, where the usual toasts were honoured and good wishes expressed for the happiness and prosperity' of bride and bridegroom. The honeymoon is being spent' in a tour of the north, the bride’s travelling suit being of beige and niggerbrown, and brown hat. Mr and Mrs 'Griffiths will sail next week for Sydney, where they will make their home. HAYMAN—HASLAM. The marriage of 'Gladys, only daughter of the Rev. J. 11. Haslam and Mrs Haslam, of Frankton, to Albert Benjamin (Bert), fourth son of Mrs Tlayman and the late Mr Harry Dayman, of Willowbridge. South 'Canterbury, took place at St. Paul’s 'Methodist 'Church, Walmale. The Rev. A. M. 'Costain performed the ceremony, and during the signing of the register Mr Arthur Wheeler, of Tirnaru, sang the solo “The Living God.” The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a graceful gown of ivory angelskin lace, and a tulle veil which had been worn by her mother on her wedding day. It was arranged from a lace cap and held by a spray of blossoms at the nape of the neck. Arum lilies and irises were in the sheaf she carried.

The 'bridesmaids, Miss Muriel Gumming and 'Miss Sadie 'Hayman, sister of the bridegroom, wore dainty fro'clcs of cameo pink and cornflour blue. Iloral georgette respectively, and tuscan coloured hats trimmed to tone. They carried bouquets of roses and carnations. The little iflowergirl, 'Annette Hayman, niece of the bridegroom, wore an ankle-length frock of pale green organdie, and she held a basket filled with pink-tinged rosebuds. Mr Leslie Hayman was best man and Mr Eric 'P. Hayman was groomsman.

After the 'ceremony about 90 guests were entertained 'by tlie bride’s parents in St. Paul’s schoolroom.
