BATHING AT LAKE.

A BASELESS RUMOUR. Persistent rumours have been circulating 'during the past week that bathing has been banned at the Lake on account of the presence of typhoid germs. Inquiries made by the Waikato Times to-day from the Health Department’s inspector, Mr J. P. Terry, and from the Borough Council show that the rumours are entirely baseless. No cases of typhoid fever have been reported and there is nothing to suggest that people may not bathe at the Lake with perfect safety. Bathing there has not been prohibited.
