STOCK SALE. • AT HIKUTAIA. . The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly stock sale at Hikutaia yesterday, when a medium yarding of beef came forward, values easing slightly on recent quotations. A small yarding of pigs met with fair competition, late values being maintained. Quotations: Cattle: Medium fat cows, £3 to £3 15s; light fat cows, £2 6s to £2 15s; killable cows, 32s to £2 2s; fresh conditioned cows, 23s to 30s; boner cows, 11s to 225; dairy cows, close to profit, £3 to £3 15s; others, £2 to £2 15s. Medium porkers, 36s to 38s; large stores, 255; others, 22s to 245; slips, 18s to 21s 6d; weaners, 10s to 14s 6d.

Baconers and porkers sold firmly at late rates, while stores and weaners also sold at improved rates. There was a good yarding of cattle, mostly of cows, with the tnai’ - ket showing a decided decline on late rates. .Quotations: —Pigs: Heavy baconers, £3 to £3 6s; lighter, £2 10s to £2 16s; heavy porkers, £2 2s to £2 6s; lighter, 35s to 395; store pigs, good 24s to 295; smaller, 21s to 245; slips, 13s to 15s; weaners, 8s to 12s 6d. Cattle: Light fat cows and heifers, 35s to £2 3s; heavy Jersey cows, 28s to 325; boner cows, los to 255; small yearling heifers, 12s 6d to 20s; heavy potter bulls, 35. sto £2 ss; lighter, 20s to 20's.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report on their Otorohanga. stock sale held yesterday as follows: The yarding of cattle was a small one, principally stores being yarded, and these realised prices without any discernible variation-from late rates. A few fat sheep drew good competition while a pen of 85 ewes and lambs realised 14s 8d all counted. We yarded another heavy entry of bacon and porker pigs, which met with consistently strong competition at values fully equal to rates at other centres. Without exception all were . sold. In the store and weaner section, notwith-, standing that fuA supplies came forward, litre was an eager demand throughout, and prices soared appreciably as a result.
