Council Subsidises Orchestra. The Hastings Borough Council has decided to ■subsidise all revenue of the Hastings Orchestral Society £1 for £1 up to a limit of £25. This decision will probably soive the financial difficulties under which Hie society has been struggling f\>r some time, and also enable it to carry on the good work already done. New 'Studios near London. Preliminary surveying before the erection of the new London Film Production Company’s studios at ElsLree is proceeding. The studios will cost £300,000 and will employ about 1000 people. The next Conrad Veidt subject for oroduction is “1 Serve,” a drama with ;i Serbian background. Lolliar Mendcs, who was responsible l'or the direction of “Jew Suss," will again direct Veldt. |
