EMPIRE DEFENCE.

SUGGESTED CONFERENCE. QUESTIONS IN PARLIAMENT. United Press Tel. Copyright. .LONDON, Deo. 12. In the House of Commons Mr Ramsay MacDonald, th 9 Prime Minister, in reply to an Inquiry by Mr 0. F. 9immonds (Conservative, Birmingham), as to whether the Government-Avould confer with the Dominion statesmen regarding the Empire’s air defences and commercial air services, said that while it was not proposed that any form of conference■ should be held during the celebrations next year of the King’s silver jubilee the Government of the United Kingdom would, of course, welcome the opportunity afforded by the presence in England of the Dominion Prime Ministers for such personal informal discussion of questions of common concern as might be thought desirable. Mr M. Simmonds: Will you bear in mind these two matters? The Empire has so much leeway to make up that the Dominions are looking for a lead from the Home Government. Mr MacDonald: These questions are being dealt with now. Only the Governments are able to estimate how to handle these intricate questions of inler-Dominion Importance.
